About Our Church

Alpha

What is it?

Alpha is a ten week course geared to helping anyone who wants to learn what Christianity has to say about the meaning of life. There is an informal and welcoming atmosphere where participants can voice their views freely and no question is regarded as too simple or too hostile.

The format usually includes a simple meal, a video presentation and a discussion in small groups.

Where and when?

We try to hold at least one evening course and one day time course each year, and our United Youth Fellowship also runs Youth Alpha from time to time. Some Alpha courses are held in a room in church, others at the houses of church members.

Why do we do it?

Alpha is our primary way of introducing the message of the Bible to those who have not heard it before, as well as providing an open atmosphere for questions.

Thinking of coming?

If you're interested in attending an Alpha course, please get in touch with the church office, or speak to George Ryan [who's that?] at one of our services.
