Introduction
Good evening and welcome to the West Kirby URC website.
If you are visiting West Kirby and would like to attend a friendly, lively and vibrant URC church centred on knowing, loving and serving Jesus Christ, then either

What's our church like?
Although our building may be old and our history go back a long way, our church is of a fairly contemporary style. We aim to be completely focussed on glorifying Jesus in everything we do, making Him and the Bible's message known to those around us in relevant ways, as well as getting to know Him better and serving Him ourselves.
This is a much greater priority to us than trying to uphold 'traditions' and 'rituals', and as a result our church has quite a different feel to a lot of other churches. This is especially true for evening services, which attract people of a diverse range of ages and backgrounds, with a large proportion of younger people. The evening services include passionate worship through music, challenging and relevant teaching, and relaxed, informal and open atmosphere. Our morning services provide the same sound teaching and friendly atmosphere, in a more 'family style' environment, with a more traditional feel.
Where we are:
Our church is set in the heart of West Kirby, which is on the tip of the
Wirral Peninsula, in the North West of England.
West Kirby is a popular residential area and attracts a lot of tourists, particularly
because of the marine lake, beach and nearby Hilbre Island. West Kirby is also less than
a mile from the Royal Liverpool Golf Course, which is once again on the circuit for
The Open Championship.
The denomination we belong to:
URC stands for "United Reformed Church". It is one of the UK's smaller Christian
denominations, but is committed to unity of the whole church.
We have a mixed congregation of approximately 200 people. Ages range from young babies to people in
their 90s.
