Community & Charity Links
West Kirby United Reformed Church enjoy building partnerships in the local community and we're active members of the Churches Together in West Kirby group. We also build partnerships with Christian charities, small and large, near and far, in a variety of ways. Here's a flavour of what we've been up to recently.
We're delighted to partner with Reach Counselling and to have a professional counsellor available by appointment at West Kirby URC. Find out more about Reach here.
We're grateful to our neighbours at West Kirby School for giving us use of their carpark for our 10.30am service on a Sunday, and we host some of their students on work experience at our Toddler Group. We enjoy taking services to Riversdale Nursing Home, and we also maintain flower planters on the platform at West Kirby railway station for the enjoyment of the local community. We were delighted when West Kirby won a Best Kept Station award! Most recently, we've been building a new partnership with Safe Families for Children. Safe Families is a charity that offers hope, belonging and support to children, families and care leavers, primarily (but not exclusively) with and through local churches. You can find out all about their brilliant work here. |

Charity Links:

We collect Christmas shoeboxes for the Teams4U appeal and enjoy annual events including a quiz night for Tearfund and Toddler group days supporting Children in Need and Macmillan.
Charities the church members have voted to support in the past few years include:
Africa Inland Mission works in partnership with the African church with the goal of seeing ‘Christ-centred churches among all African peoples.’
Barnabas Fund supports Christians where they are in a minority and suffer discrimination, oppression and persecution due to their faith.
Charles Thompson's Mission has been serving the people of Birkenhead and the Wirral since 1892, helping men and women to move out of poverty.
Christian Aid work globally, providing urgent, practical assistance where need is great and tackling the effects of poverty as well as its root causes.
