Under 5s are welcome!
We are a family church and love to welcome everyone. If you need anything to help your under 5s please do not hesitate to ask. Here's our written-by-a-parent guide to bringing under 5s along to West Kirby URC...
Sunday Services: Children are very welcome in our church services, and we love their contribution to worship. As well as singing or dancing, children can enjoy worshipping with the flags and ribbons provided in our soft-floored children's area in the church, alongside colouring, quiet toys and activities.
A crèche room with feeding and changing facilities is available with soft toys and books for little ones to enjoy with their parents/grandparents. Older toddlers and children can join in Children's Church during the Sunday morning service - find out more about that here. Feeding: West Kirby URC is breastfeeding friendly and you can breastfeed wherever you feel comfortable. There is a more private space with nursing chairs available in the crèche room if this is helpful to you. Similarly, you are welcome to bottle feed wherever you like, including in the crèche room. If you need water to warm, cool or make up a bottle, please ask in the kitchen. We also have highchairs available and a welcomer can provide you with one.
Baby Changing and Toilet Facilities: There are baby changing units available in the crèche room and the hall entrance accessible toilet. Please help yourself to any nappies or wipes you may need, there is a selection in the crèche room. If your child needs a change of clothes, there are some available in the crèche room.
Buggies and Prams: There are spaces in the Church Entrance, Hall Entrance and in the church worship space to leave buggies and prams. A welcomer can point these out to you if you wish to make use of them.
Dedications & Thanksgivings: We would be delighted to offer a simple service of thanksgiving for the birth of your child/toddler as part of our Sunday morning service. We give thanks to God for this wonderful new life and pray for you as parents, that God will bless you as you bring up your child. If you would like to talk about this, please get in touch using the contact form here or chat to a member of the Toddlers team.
