Sundays at West Kirby URC - Everyone's Welcome!
The 10.30am Service & Children's Church
Check out the livestream @ facebook.com/westkirbyurc
We’re delighted that our neighbours on Meols Drive, West Kirby School, have given us free use of their carpark for our 10.30am Sunday services. A steward is on the gate to let you in from 10am, and the gate opens automatically for you to exit when you wish.
Our welcome team will greet you at the church entrance and can show you in. For the service, you're welcome to sit anywhere you choose, in a row of chairs or around a coffee table. If you're visiting with under 3s you might find the info. here about our crèche room helpful. Babies and young toddlers can stay in the service with their family, or be taken to the crèche room by the adult who brought them.
Children are very welcome at West Kirby URC and can be dropped off to the Children's Church team from 10.15am. Please come in through the main church entrance, then go to the hall. Children's Church includes loads of games, crafts, Bible stories, dancing and fun. Children who have been to Holiday Club at West Kirby URC will recognise plenty of familiar faces! And whilst the children are having a great time, their adults can relax in the service, and enjoy a drink afterwards as children don't need to be collected as soon as the service finishes; they are welcome to continue free-play together until 12 noon.

Around 10.30am, the service leader will welcome everyone and pray, then invite the band to lead some contemporary worship songs, during which you are welcome to stand or sit, sing or listen. The service continues with prayers and a talk based on a reading from the Bible exploring a topic that's relevant to our lives today. Check out some of our past talks here.
After the talk, there might be a time of prayer reflection or response, then some more songs. The service finishes by 11.45am, and then everyone's invited to stay for refreshments and chat. We believe in the power of prayer and our team are available after the service to pray with anyone who would appreciate this.
People of all ages attend the 10.30am service. There's no dress code and no obligation to give any money - we don't pass around a collection plate. You are welcome to Contact Us if you have any questions about Sundays at West Kirby URC or would like us to look out for you when you visit.

The 6.15pm Service
Hello! One of our welcome team will greet you at the church entrance and show you through to the lounge, where you can have a hot or cold drink before sitting down anywhere you choose. Around 6.15pm, the service leader will welcome everyone and pray, then the band will lead a set of contemporary worship songs during which you are welcome to stand or sit, sing or listen.
After the sung worship, the service leader introduces the preacher for the evening, who explores a passage of the Bible and how it applies to life today. You can listen to some past talks from the 6.15pm service here.
After the talk, the service leader or preacher may lead a time of prayer, during which there is an opportunity to think, pray or respond to what you heard. We believe in the power of prayer and our team are available during and after the service to pray with anyone who would appreciate this, or you may prefer to ask someone you came to church with or someone else you trust to pray for you - that's just fine. The service usually concludes with more contemporary worship songs led by the band, and the service leader closes the service around 7.30pm with a prayer and an invitation to everyone to stay for refreshments.
