Hall Lettings

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are only able to open our halls to lettings when national and local guidance allows. You are still very welcome to send enquiries though, and we look forward to welcoming you when we can.
West Kirby URC's halls are popular with a wide range of users for activities ranging from lectures and discussions to orchestras and children's parties. The church has one large hall, measuring approximately 17m by 10m (including the stage area), one smaller hall and a carpeted meeting room available for hire. There are also kitchen facilities for use with the rooms.

The halls are available for hire to users and organisations whose activities are not incompatible with the church's beliefs. Please note that we do not let rooms for non-religious purposes on Sundays and the consumption of alcohol is not permitted. To find out more about groups who currently rent halls at West Kirby URC, visit the community users page.

Making a Hall Booking:

To enquire about hiring a hall at West Kirby URC, please contact our halls booking secretary, Edward Owen, by phone 0151 632 3045 or email edward_owen@btinternet.com. It is recommended that those leaving answer-phone messages should also send an e-mail if possible, as if the Halls Secretary is away he generally has access to email but not always to the answer-phone. Those making enquiries by email or by leaving an answer-phone message are asked to please make clear:
  • the nature of their proposed activity.
  • the room or hall wanted (or the number of people likely to be involved).
  • some indication of the day(s) and time(s) you would like to book.
  • a telephone number for contact purposes (clearly enunciated please!).

Please note that birthday party bookings from non-members of the church are accepted only for children of primary school age (i.e maximum birthday age 11), and not on Sundays. We do not accept indoor bouncy castles for fear of damage to the polished floors.

Safeguarding:

West Kirby United Reformed Church is committed to the safeguarding of children and adults at risk and to ensuring their well-being.

Regular users of halls or meeting rooms will be given a copy of the Conditions of Use paper (link above) which includes a section about the hirer's responsibility for safeguarding. Regular users will be asked to indicate whether safeguarding legislation and best practice apply to their activities and, if so, whether their organisation has its own safeguarding policy which it will implement, or whether they will be implementing the church's safeguarding policy. A copy of the church's safeguarding policy is available to download here.
