Children's Provision from May 2021
On Sunday 2nd May the 10:30am Morning Service will be back in the building (instead of on Facebook)
As we find our feet again with this service, and while quite strict restrictions are still in place, we won't be running a separate Children's Church session, but will instead be offering "Family Zones" and "Activity Areas" to and families who attend with children.
A "family zone" is an area that allows younger children (aged 0-4) to move around and play in during the service, and will be fully stocked with activities and toys that the family can use.
We have 3 "family zones" available on our church balcony, which allow parents to still be able to see and hear all that goes on during the service and can take part still, while their children are safely 'contained' in the family zone.
The "family zones" are socially distanced from each other, and can only be used by one family at a time. But they are a step closer to being back in church together, and we hope as restrictions ease we can allow the children and families to mix more in the future when it is right and safe to.
For families with older children (aged 5-10) "activity areas" will be created for their children to do various art & craft activities in during the service.
These will be small tables and cushions set up in-front of the seats the family will use during the service, and the craft activities & resources will be provided by us.
There is currently no booking system to come to the 10:30am Morning Service, so if you'd like to attend then please do!
However, if you know in advance that you plan to attend with your children then please do let us know so we can make sure we have everything set up for you, especially if you are bringing older children (aged 5-10)
You can let Dan Sach know via email - [email protected]
or message Dan on his work mobile - 0791 632 6141

Children's Church during "Lockdown 2" (November 2020)
During September & October we have been able to run "in-person" Children's Church sessions during 4:30pm service that took place, in-person, at West Kirby URC.
The relaxation of the Covid-19 restrictions allowed us to do that safely and inside our "Covid-19 Secure Venue"
However, the new lockdown - "Lockdown 2" - in November has meant that we must close our church building to in-person services, and so Children's Church sessions also have to stop in-person.
BUT, we're not stopping the Children's Church sessions as we are going to move them ONLINE!
Starting on Sunday 8th November we will be using ZOOM to run LIVE Children's Church sessions, starting at 4:30pm for about 30 minutes.
To join us please contact Dan Sach - [email protected] - 0791 632 6141 - for the ZOOM code.
Children's Church sessions will include singing & signing, dancing, stories, crafts, bible verses and prayer.
And we're asking parents/guardians to join in with your children while using the ZOOM so you can help make sure it all works for them and join in the fun!
Finally, please check out the weekly session resources and info below to make sure you've got what you need to fully join in with the sessions...
(although please don't worry if you can't get it all - you can still join in the fun!)

July Update:
After 4 months+ of lock-down provision we are going to have a break, as we would normally do as the schools "break up for the summer". But, please do make use of the catalogue of resources on this page - including the fantastic sessions in the "Families on Faith Adventures" and the "Urban Saints: Kid's Klub by Post" range near the top of this page.
As well as checking out the church Facebook page: www.facebook.com/westkirbyurc/
And our Toddler Group Facebook page: www.facebook.com/wkurctoddlergroup/
We don't know what the new school year will look like or mean for the children's programme yet, and we probably won't know until we get there...so we'll keep you informed!
But until then we hope you have the best summer you can and please stay safe.

Families on Faith Adventures |
National United Reformed Church has produced a great children's and families resource! We've had them available for a while but would REALLY recommend them for family fun this summer.
Their website tells us: The national Children's and Youth Work team have worked together to produce Families on Faith Adventures @ Home , drawing on the materials from Pilots and Friends on Faith Adventures (FOFA) as a starting point. These materials are a 'pick and mix' selection of activities and prayers and challenges based around a different Bible reading each week. No matter what your family make-up, hopefully you will find something useful to you amongst the suggestions here. |
You can do these whenever you like, you don't have to wait for Sundays. But if you'd like a bit of structure, here's a suggestion...

Sunday Live Stream Service Resources
If you have a printer you could print off the PDFs ready for the Sunday live streamed service.
If you don't have a printer you can show them to your children and ask them to create their own pictures
We'd love for them to do the activities DURING each live service, and then parents/guardians could take pictures of what the children been doing to share on social media if they're happy to.
PLUS sometimes the children (with parent help!) will be invited to do one more activity during the service which they might like to take part in....................these will be revealed during the service they apply to!

DON'T FORGET - you need to play the part of God and remove 'Jesus' from the tomb, but leave the 'grave clothes' behind. This is the Easter Day Story - ideally it should be told fairly early on Easter Day....

This week in the Morning Service Stream we'll be hearing about "connecting with others" and so with lock-down and so many people still having to social distance it would a good time to maybe write a letter and include some pictures and info about yourself to maybe send to a neighbour or one of the elderly residents in a local nursing/residential home.
If you send any photos of letters and pictures you do to West Kirby URC (either via our Facebook page or e-mail them to Dan) and we can get them passed onto Riversdale Residential Home in West Kirby, where the residents love to receive pictures and letters!

Thursday 21st May is the start of this year's "Thy Kingdom Come" - www.thykingdomcome.global
